1. Jason read the agenda and chaired the meeting. 2. Chris read the rules. 3. Joanne read the minutes from the December meeting. Everyone present agreed these were okay. 4. Chris read the summary of the December meeting. We all agreed it can go on the internet pages. 5. Jason and Joanne were given their Christmas present. 6. Joanne signed a photo consent form and Bex took her photo. ACTIONS: Bex to ask admin to - · Put up Chris and Joanne’s photographs with the photos of Lee and Jason which are already up in reception. · Put the group logo with the photos. · Add in the date the group started.
7. We talked about a trip to Russets, everyone said that they want to go. We agreed that: Monday 13th February: Jason and Lee will visit Russets with Rebecca, Caryl and Ann. Thursday 16th February: Joanne and Chris will visit Russets with Bex and Helen. We said that this will need some planning and careful organising! Bex will start sorting out travel arrangements and timings. She will post the details to everyone. However, our next group meeting is on Friday 10th February so we can chat about this some more then, and we will confirm all the plans. We said that will take our group leaflet to Russets to see if we can recruit people to come to the group.
8. Lee and Chris told us about the CQC celebration they went to at the Kestrel Centre. They said that they had a good time. They asked if they can have a copy of the photo which was taken. Jane discussed consent forms with Lee and Chris, and they both signed these to say that the photo can be published in the SHINE magazine. ACTION: Bex to find out if Chris and Lee can have a copy of the photo. 9. Bex told the group about a workshop at QA Hospital. The group have been invited to attend this by Karen Price who is a nurse. The workshop is about how to make the hospital better for people who have a disability. Bex gave the group the flyer which had all the details for the workshop on it. 10. Jane spoke to the group about her ideas for how to change the group this year. Jane suggested: · That the group runs on different days and at different times so that more people can attend. · Each group is about a different topic: - The topic, or theme, will be chosen in advance so that people can choose which groups they want to attend. - The themes could change each month as to whether they are topics from the health team, the social care team or the city council. ACTIONS: · Everyone to think about Jane’s suggestion and see what they think. · Everyone to think about whether they have their own ideas about how to improve the group so that we have more members. · Jane to look into days, times and different rooms/venues for the group.
